Patients with Crohn's Disease, Ulcerative Colitis, Microscopic Colitis, or Sprue can be some of the most complex patients in a physician's practice, and most physicians do not manage patients with inflammatory bowel disease on a regular basis.

The Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center provides the following services to assist physicians in managing inflammatory bowel disease patients:

Phone Consultation: If you are a physician or member of the health care team with a specific question regarding any issues related to Crohn's Disease, Ulcerative Colitis, Microscopic Colitis, or Sprue, call 312.695.4IBD.

Periodic Assessment: For physicians who want to continue to manage their patients but would like a periodic, comprehensive assessment of their overall status from a specialist in inflammatory bowel disease, clinic appointments can be set up at a frequency appropriate for the patient's status and the physicians needs. For information, call 312.695.4IBD.

Clinic Consultation: For physicians who want a specialist's opinion regarding a non-emergent problem with their patient, clinic appointments can be made on short notice by calling 312.695.4IBD.

Emergency Transfer: For physicians who need an emergent assessment regarding a complication that has developed in their patient, immediate hospital to hospital transfer can be arranged by calling 312.695.4IBD.

Transfer of Care: For physicians who want their patient's inflammatory bowel disease to be managed entirely by the inflammatory bowel disease team call 312.695.4IBD.

Clinical Trials: For physicians who would like their inflammatory bowel disease patients to participate in ongoing clinical trials, please see the clinical trials section of this site.
